David Testifies before Texas Senate Education Committee on Inappropriate Educator-Student Relationships (12/8/2015) 

On December 7, 2015, TECG Principal Consultant and University of Texas at San Antonio educational leadership professor David Thomspon was one of four invited witnesses to testify before the Texas Senate Education Committee on the topic of inappropriate educator-student relationships. Joined by Texas Education Agency Director of Educator Investigations Doug Phillips, Harris County Assistant District Attorney Katie T. Warren, and Denton ISD Superintendent Dr. Jamie Wilson, David testified on trends with regard to educator sexual misconduct in Texas, the role of social media in this misconduct, and made recommendations on social media policies, educator preparation rules, and the role of professional development in stemming the tide of inappropriate relationships.
